Most Shortages are Due to Economics
There are 100+ generic injectables on the FDA shortage list, and many more that mid-and small-size hospitals have great difficulty reliably procuring. In most other countries, the list of drugs in shortage is much longer.
Most of these shortages are due in large part to the high cost of fill-finishing these injectables for low prices that are unattractive to most pharma companies.
The Global Pharmacy Reserve (GPR), a division of the Vanguard Utility, is working to change this.
GPR Uses BFS Technology to Unlock Lower Cost Liquid Generics
Our proprietary end-to-end drug packaging system uses a combination of next generation Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) and advanced robotic assembly lines to fill-finish plastic vials and prefilled injectors for significantly lower costs than traditional glass vials and other single-dose parenteral presentations.

Bringing Technology Together

Addressing Urgently Needed Medicines for the U.S. and the World
The Global Pharmacy Reserve uses its Vanguard BFS Systems to both compound generic inejctables inhouse for the US, and set up manufacturing lines at 3rd party manufacturers around the world.
